We play Baylor today and, although we came away this weekend with a split, it is a split that is disappointing. The reason the split was so disappointing is because our team is so much better than that. On Saturday we came out ready and eager to get things done. Our enthusiasm was great and we came ready to play. We came out and hit the ball and had great defense. Then we come out Sunday, with the same enthusiasm and readiness to play, but on an individual basis we had people taking themselves out of the game before it was even over. The good thing was that in the last inning we were able to come back and tie the score at 5. Granted, we had plenty of chances to score, but in the bottom of the 10th we had a play that I unfortunately made that enabled the winning run to score for Missouri.

It's funny because I think I am harder on myself when bad things happen or when I don't perform the way I know how, and I feel people know that. The thing that was uplifting to me was I didn't see in the eyes of my teammates that it was my fault, I continued to see this confidence that they still have for me. I don't know if I was looking for it or what, but I felt it. I don't take failure easily, and I feel I failed my team in that one play. I was able to regroup and hear a few inspiring words from my mom and dad, and realized that our whole season is not wrapped up in that one game. I am able to come out and play the rest of our games the best way I know how, without hesitation or fear.

So, as I take that with me away from that game, I pray and hope that my team can take that as well...that we go out there and play the game without hesitation or fear, that we enable ourselves to take every moment at hand and capitalize on it to the very best of our ability, that we are able to overcome any obstacles on an individual basis and make the most out of every moment that arises, and that we as individuals can play with no regrets. For when you leave a game with regrets, you know that you can never get that moment back and it is lost forever.

So the point of this entry is the hope for my team to endure the bad and run with the good, to overcome your own self-pity and await what you can do in your next opportunity, to live for the moment and love what we do. So to my teammates, may we make the most of the moments to come! Beat the Hell outta Baylor and Oklahoma State! WHOOP!
