The Texas A&M football team drilled in shorts and shells for two hours on Friday on the grass practice fields.
A&M head coach Dennis Franchione was pleased the defense's play on Friday after a lackluster showing in the previous workout.
"The defense was much improved," Franchione said. "They were more motivated, intense and focused and it showed in the way they played. They made it tougher on the offense. We want to take that kind of play into the stadium on Saturday."
The Aggies will have the second of three spring scrimmages on Saturday at Kyle Field beginning at 11:45 a.m.
"Last Saturday was a good first scrimmage," Coach Fran said. "What we're looking for tomorrow is improvement. We want to see the steps we've been making in practice."
Practices are open to the public, but fans are encouraged to call the practice hotline at 979-458-2185 to register and for other instructions and information.
The Aggies will conclude spring drills with a Maroon & White Game, presented by AT&T Wireless, scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 12 at Kyle Field. Advance tickets are $5 and tickets the day of the game will be $7.
