The Texas A&M football team had a pair of special visitors at Tuesday's workout --- former President George Bush and his wife, Barbara.
The Bush's, along with their dog, Sadie, watched the Aggies drill for several minutes before A&M head coach Dennis Franchione stopped the practice and President Bush addressed the team.
"You've got a great coach in Coach Fran," President Bush told the Aggies. "We wanted to wish you well. You do a lot for this school. We're proud to be a part of the Aggie family.
"And one more thing, pray for the President."
After addressing the team, President Bush was presented with a gift of Aggie football gear from senior offensive tackle and Leadership Council member Alan Reuber.
Before he left the field, President Bush, with some coaching from Reuber, called up the Aggies and then broke the huddle.
"It's not every day that the President or former President drops by to say 'Hi'." Coach Fran said. "That was a neat experience and I know the players enjoyed it and appreciated it a great deal, and so did the coaches."
