The Texas A&M men's golf team struggled to opening rounds of 296-297=593 on Saturday and is in 14th place at the U.S. Intercollegiate at the Stanford Golf Course.
The final round will be played on Sunday.
UCLA leads the team standings after posting a 12-under-par total of 279-277=556 on the par-72, 6,786-yard course. San Diego State is in second place at 565, followed by UC-Irvine (567), Oklahoma State (567), Fresno State (567), Oregon (568), Pacific (570), Stanford (576), Washington State (577), Long Beach State (580), San Francisco (584), California (585), San Jose State (588), A&M (593), Santa Clara (595) and San Diego (600).
UCLA's Roy Moon leads the individual race with an 11-under-par total of 65-66=131, two strokes ahead of UC-Irvine's Jeff Coburn (66-67=133) and San Diego State's Mark Warman (71-62=133).
A&M was led by senior Shaun Helmle, who is tied for 38th place at 74-72=146. Also for A&M, junior Parker Briley is tied for 51st at 73-75=148, junior Stephen Reed is tied for 57th at 74-75=149, junior David Tasker is tied for 67th at 76-75=151 and freshman Andrew Parr is tied for 70th at 75-77=152.
