Texas A&M junior Lindsay Wilhelmson pitched the Aggies (34-16, 10-6) to a 2-0 victory over Baylor (28-26, 2-14) at the Aggie Softball Complex on Thursday. The right-hander from North Richland Hills improved to 16-5 overall and 5-2 in conference after throwing a complete game one-hitter striking out three and walking one as A&M improved to 20-3 in home games this season.
In her last game at home senior Crystal Martin provided the game-winning hit in the second inning driving in sophomore Jana James with a double down the left field line. James reached base on her league-leading 18th double of the season after ripping a shot into center field.
The Aggies added another run in the fifth inning off a Nicole Robinson pinch hit double to center that plated pinch runner Sherah Atkins. Atkins was pinch running for Wilhelmson who doubled to left center to lead off the inning.
A&M travels to Norman, Oklahoma on Friday for a weekend series with the No. 5 Sooners. Games are slated to begin at 1:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Live stats for the games will be available on AggieAthletics.com.
