May 12, 2003 Well, the day we finally had been waiting for, the selections for regionals. Here we were, waiting to see where we would be going this weekend, and we definitely didn't need to wait long. We were one of the first teams selected to be in the regional in Arizona. There was kind of a sigh throughout the room. I don't think anyone was expecting to go to Arizona but needless to say that is where we will go. I personally am excited to go there because almost all of my family is from the Phoenix/Tucson area. So we definitely will have a lot of fans. It was funny because I had called my aunt who lives in Tucson and asked her if she was coming to my regionals. She said she was scared to fly and I told her that this would be my last regionals ever. So she said "okay mija let me know where it is and I will try to come," as soon as our name came up to go to Arizona she was the first one I thought about. I called her and said "daaaang you must have been praying hard cause we are going to Arizona." She and my grandma and the rest of my aunts and uncles were really excited, not to mention my mom and dad. I think at first everyone's initial reaction was wow, we are going to play the number one team in the nation, but I strongly believe that we deserve to be in that championship game. We have to take one game at a time so that we can give ourselves a chance to be there. We have to have confidence and know that Arizona can be beat, it's just a matter of everyone showing up...from the pitchers, to defense, to hitters, to the dugout. We have to have everyone in it from start to finish. I have so much confidence in our team and I pray that our team has that much confidence in ourselves as well. Good Luck Ags, and play the way we know we can play. We gotta bring it, 'cause its now or never.
