The Texas A&M football team worked twice on Monday. The evening workout was in shorts and shoulder pads and the squad ended with a team walk through.

"We had a couple of good workouts today," Coach Dennis Franchione said. "I thought the players pushed themselves hard. It was also a good mental workout."

When asked about the upcoming practice schedule, Coach Fran explained, "There are more situations we need to cover than a full scrimmage situation. During our regular practices, we may scrimmage 12-24 plays."

Coach Fran mentioned that tight end Patrick Fleming, a sophomore from Colleyville Heritage High School, returned to practice on Monday.

Coach Fran stated Jorrie Adams, a 6-7, 275-pound true freshman from Jasper High School, has continued to work some at tight end as well as offensive tackle.

Looking ahead to game week, Coach Fran stated, "We will work in full pads on Sunday and then take Monday off. We'll get back to work on Tuesday and start to let them recover and get ready for the first game."

The Aggies open against Arkansas State on Saturday, August 30, at 7 p.m. at Kyle Field.
