T.J. Marcum has been named men's basketball administrative assistant at Texas A&M, head coach Melvin Watkins said Monday.
A 2000 graduate of A&M, Marcum served as a student assistant for Watkins at A&M from 1996-99. He served last season as an assistant coach at Denton (Texas) High School after two years as an assistant coach at Stephen F. Austin. He was an assistant women's coach at Lanier High School in Austin in 2000.
"This will be a homecoming of sorts for T.J.," Watkins said. "He did a great job as a student assistant here before, so there was no hesitation on my part when he expressed interest in this position. He's got a good rapport with the high school coaches in the state and I know he'll do a fine job."
