The Texas A&M football team continued preparations for next Saturday's 2003 season lid-lifter with Arkansas State with a two-hour mock game on Kyle Field on Saturday evening.

"My record is intact," first-year A&M head coach Dennis Franchione joked. "I'm still undefeated in mock games."

The mock game consisted of scripted plays that tried to familiarize the team with all the different scenarios that the Aggies could encounter during the course of a football game.

"I thought they did a good job," Franchione said. "It's a totally new experience for them with the way we do things. Next Friday and Saturday will be old hat for them. Now they've experienced it and the format never changes. It creates a comfort zone for them."

Kickoff for the Aggies' season-opener against the Indians of Arkansas State is slated for Saturday, Aug. 30 at 7 p.m. at Kyle Field. The game will be televised on a pay-per-view basis by Big 12 Special Order Sports, Fox Sports Net's pay-per-view division. Suggested retail price for the contest is $29.95. A list of participating cable systems, as well as satellite providers will be announced early next week.
