The Texas A&M football team started its game week preparations during a two and half hour workout in full pads Sunday evening at the grass practice facility.

Normally full pad workouts are held on Tuesday of each game week, but A&M coach Dennis Franchione took advantage of the calendar and jump started the team's preparation by two days.

"This was a Tuesday," Franchione said. "Tuesday's for us are usually full padded and a good two or two and a half hours. In preparation for this game we moved Tuesday up a couple of days and that moves Wednesday up so we will really have two Thursday type practices later this week."

Franchione said the Aggies were using the extra time to continue to install the game plan and to recover some tired legs.

The Aggies will take Monday off from practicing, but will still hold meetings and film sessions.

Franchione will also release a depth chart on Monday afternoon. The chart will only involve the 105 players who are in camp.

A&M is preparing for its first game which is against Arkansas State on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Kyle Field.
