Texas A&M football coach Dennis Franchione has met thousands of Aggies and A&M football fans since his arrival in December, now he is looking forward to giving them an inside look at the team via the radio on the Coach Fran Call-In Show which premieres on Thursday at 7 p.m. on the Texas A&M Sports Network.
Originating from Wings 'N More restaurant on University Drive in College Station, the hour long program is slated to be broadcast on many of the same stations that carry the school's football game broadcasts, as well as on the internet at AggieAthletics.com.
"I look forward to giving our supporters, the 12th Man, a look from the inside," Franchione said. "They play a vital role in our program and its success. Throughout the summer I had the chance to travel the State and met thousands of A&M football fans, literally, at our coach's nights. Their passion and enthusiasm for Texas A&M is what makes being a part of the Aggie family so special."
Franchione and host Dave South, the "Voice of the Aggies," will discuss the previous week's game, look ahead to the upcoming contest and take calls from fans across the state and nation.
The show airs from 7-8 p.m. (Central) every Thursday though November 20, except on Sept. 18 when the Aggies play on a Thursday at Virginia Tech. Fans can participate in the show by calling in at 1-866-505-4222 and those in the audience at the restaurant will also have an opportunity to ask questions.
A&M opens the 2003 season against Arkansas State on Saturday, August 30, at 7 p.m. at Kyle Field.
