This week is a very exciting game, and it poses a great opportunity for this year's team. It will be our first game on the road with Coach Fran, and the first time that anyone on this team has gone to Blacksburg to face a top-10 opponent. The team is very excited, and we have had a great week and a half of practice. This week, being a bye week, gave us much needed time to get better at technical and fundamental aspects of the game. I'm looking forward to seeing how our team performs against such a great and talented team. Defensively they're returning 10 of 11 starters from an already impressive unit, and offensively they are solid and impose a great challenge to our defense.

Many people have been asking about the hurricane. Media, fans, and families have been pretty worried about whether or not the game will still be played, but right now the team is really just focused on playing the game. If the hurricane hits, there will be a lot of rain, but we're really not worried about that. It will affect both teams equally. We've had four practices in the pouring rain since the beginning of two a days, and hopefully that will help us to be prepared for less than favorable weather conditions.

Virginia Tech has picked this game to be their "orange out," so we're going to be depending on our fans who weather the storm to be loud and make themselves known in Blacksburg, and BEAT THE HELL OUTTA VIRGINIA TECH!
