No. 25 Texas A&M faces another tough battle Friday as the Aggies play host to the streaking Missouri Tigers, who are undefeated in Big 12 play. First serve is at 7 p.m. at G. Rollie White Coliseum.
A&M is coming off a five-game victory over Colorado on Wednesday to improve to 9-3 overall and even its Big 12 record at 1-1. The Tigers, who are riding a five-match winning streak, swept Texas Tech in their last outing to improve to 10-2, 3-0.
A&M is 14-3 in the all-time series against Missouri, including 7-0 in matches played at G. Rollie. Last year, A&M lost in four games in Columbia, Mo., and then upset the No. 20 Tigers in four games in College Station.
Outside hitter Laura Jones, who is hitting .288, leads the Aggies with 4.51 kills per game. Melissa Munsch is second on the squad with 3.61 kills per game and leads A&M with 1.36 blocks per game.
Shen Danru leads Missouri with 4.08 kills and 3.59 digs per game and also leads the team and the Big 12 with 0.77 aces per game. Setter Lindsey Hunter also leads the Big 12 with 12.54 assists per game.
Prior to the match, members of Aggie Athletes Involved and the Student Advisory Committee will be conducting their "Aggies CAN" drive and will be accepting can food items and donations. Everyone who brings a canned food item to the match will be entered into a drawing to win a volleyball autographed by the A&M volleyball team.
The Aggie volleyball team will hold an autograph session following the match.
