Texas A&M baseball fans will get a chance to see some of their past favorites as well as the 19 new faces on the 2004 Aggie baseball team as the Fall World Series and Alumni Game signal the conclusion of fall baseball in Aggieland.

The Alumni Game is scheduled for Saturday, October 18, and will feature some of the greatest players in Texas A&M history. Scheduled to make appearances at the game are All-Americans Chad Allen, John Byington, Daylan Holt, James "Hoot" Gibson, Scott Livingstone and Doug Rau.

"We have got a lot of people coming back and it is fun to see those guys and rekindle the stories and find out how they are doing," commented Texas A&M head coach Mark Johnson. "Of course, a lot of them are married and have children now. It is an exciting time for me."

Batting practice will begin at 4 p.m. and first pitch is set for 7 p.m.

The annual Texas A&M Fall World Series will be played this Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Thursday and Friday will feature seven-inning doubleheaders beginning at 5 p.m. and Sunday there will be a single nine-inning contest beginning at 2 p.m.

"The Fall World Series is always fun for the players and the coaching staff," said Johnson. "The guys get to put the game uniforms on and compete while the coaches get a chance to see how the players react in game situations."

This season's fall classic will showcase the Muckdogs, managed by assistant coach David Coleman, and the Goblins, managed by volunteer assistant coach Robin Harriss.

Game one starting pitchers will be junior lefty Zach Jackson (Muckdogs) versus senior right-hander Justin Moore (Goblins) while game two starters are scheduled to be sophomore southpaw Dan Donaldson (Muckdogs) facing junior left-hander Brent Jackson (Goblins).

Admission for all this weekend's baseball events is free. For additional information on the Texas A&M Fall World Series, including team rosters, visit the official home of Texas A&M Athletics at AggieAthletics.com.
