The 22nd-ranked Texas A&M volleyball team looks to equal its longest winning streak of the season when the Aggies face the Oklahoma Sooners on Friday. First serve is at 6 p.m. at McCasland Field House in Norman.
The Aggies (13-5, 5-3 Big 12), who are in a two-way tie with Colorado for fourth place in the Big 12 Conference, extended their winning streak to three games with a five-game victory over Kansas Wednesday at G. Rollie White Coliseum.
Oklahoma (9-11, 1-7) has lost four consecutive matches, including a 3-0 loss at Colorado Wednesday in Boulder, Colo., and is in 10th place in the conference standings. The Sooners' only conference win was against Baylor, as Oklahoma downed the Bears in five games in Waco earlier this month.
A&M owns a 23-1 record in the all-time against the Sooners and has won the last 20 meetings. The last 13 contests have been decided in three games. A&M has dropped only one game against the Sooners in Big 12 matches and posts a 42-1 games record in 14 conference match-ups.
None of the Aggies on the current roster were born when OU picked up its only victory against A&M with a 15-13, 15-11 win at the 1979 North Texas State Tournament.
