The Texas A&M men's golf team will compete at the Barona Collegiate Cup Monday and Tuesday at the Barona Creek Golf Course.
The tournament will consist of 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday for a total of 54 holes on the 7,088-yard, par-72 golf course. In addition to A&M, the 17-team field includes BYU, California, Colorado State, Denver, Fresno State, UNC Greensboro, Hawaii-Manoa, Louisville, New Mexico, Nevada, Ohio State, host San Diego State, Texas-El Paso, Washington State.
Representing A&M will be senior Stephen Reed, sophomore Andrew Parr, senior David Tasker, senior Parker Briley and junior David Schultz.
The Aggies are hoping to rebound from a disappointing 10th place finish at the Club Glove Intercollegiate earlier this month in Somis, Calif.
"This is our last tournament of the fall and I feel good about how we are playing," A&M coach J.T. Higgins said. "Barona Creek suits us and we should be able to put up some good scores if we take advantage of our length off the tee. We didn't play very well in California our last time out so we're looking for a little redemption. Getting David Schultz back into the lineup adds stability and should provide a lot of confidence to the rest of the squad."
