Turnovers Sink Aggies in Lincoln

Jammal Lord ran for two touchdowns and No. 18 Nebraska equaled a school record by forcing eight turnovers in a 48-12 victory over Texas A&M on Saturday.
The Cornhuskers (6-1, 2-1 Big 12) picked on the Aggies' Reggie McNeal all day, intercepting three passes and recovering two fumbles by the quarterback. The last time Nebraska collected eight turnovers was 1991, against Colorado State.
Lord carried 15 times for 109 yards and scored on runs of 22 and 31 yards as the Huskers rebounded nicely from last week's loss at Missouri.
Three of McNeal's turnovers were turned into points as Texas A&M fell to 3-4, 1-2 under new coach Dennis Franchione.
After Todd Pegram kicked a 35-yard field goal for the Aggies, Nebraska scored the next 34 points.
Lord opened the Huskers' scoring with his 22-yard run and five plays after safety Josh Bullocks made his seventh interception of the season, David Horne ran in from a yard out to make it 13-3.
Linebacker Barrett Ruud intercepted McNeal on A&M's next series and returned it 27 yards for a touchdown.
McNeal was pulled in favor of Dustin Long late in the first half after Lornell McPherson picked off a tipped pass.
McNeal returned in the third quarter and fumbled on A&M's second play from scrimmage. Kevin Smith recovered at the A&M 12, and Josh Davis scored on the next play to increase Nebraska's lead to 27-3.
It was 34-3 after Lord broke his 31-yard run midway through the third.
Lord, 2 of 7 for 22 yards, gave way to Joe Dailey early in the fourth quarter. Dailey threw a 29-yard TD pass to Isaiah Fluellen after Fabian Washington intercepted a pass by Long.
Defensive end Titus Adams snagged a Long pass from the end zone at the A&M 3 and ran it in for a touchdown for Nebraska's final points.
A&M's Jason Carter returned the ensuing kickoff 89 yards for a touchdown.
Nebraska's second-ranked defense allowed A&M a season-low 243 yards. McNeal was 7 of 19 for 77 yards and ran for 69 yards on 13 carries.
