Well, our fall season has come to a close and I can't wait for our spring season to start! We had an awesome last week of softball!
We started it off by facing Alvin in a double header on Thursday. We came out on fire! It was awesome! Everyone hit the ball really well. We ended up run-ruling them in both games.
Saturday afternoon we started right where we left off, getting three big wins. We started the day off by facing Galveston. We again came out crushing the ball. It was great! We had some trouble defensively but ended up pulling out the win. We turned right around and faced Texarkana in our second game of the day. Our hitting again pushed us through and we backed it up with solid defense to get our second win. We were given a game break before returning for our final game of the day against Temple. The third game was definetly our best game of the day. We ended the day run-ruling them in five innings.
All in all, we had a great fall season!
Although our fall games our over, we still have a week of practice left. This last week may be my favorite week of Aggie softball. In the last week of our fall we always have a three-day scrimmage, which we call our "Maroon and White Series." We are divided up into two teams and set off to play a three-game series. These aren't just regular games though. We like to throw in a little wager too. The losing team normally has to cook the winning team dinner. This adds a little incentive to the games. You either get free, cooked food or you have to buy and cook food. To me....that's some incentive! Either way it's a lot of fun.
