Last week officially ended our fall season. Although we were scheduled to play a three-game, Maroon and White Series, tragedy prevented this from happening. Last Saturday, Misty Stein (our former manager)'s step-father passed away. Misty has been a major part of our program for many years and one of the main reasons we have been successful. So instead of playing the first game of our three game series on Tuesday, we chose as a team to attend his funeral.
Misty, you and your family our constantly in our thoughts and prayers!
On Wednesday, the competition began! The Maroon team, consisting of Sharanda, Rocky, Me, Kristin, Lindsay Park, Laura, Sherah, and Christina, dominated the first game 4-0. Then on Thursday, the White team, consisting of the other people....just kidding....Lisa, Joy, Jana, Lindsay Wilhelmson, Nicole, Morgan, Jessica, and Jill, killed us 6-1. That tied the series at 1-1, but since we didn't have time to play a another game, the winner was decided on runs scored. So the White team won...dang it! In conclusion, the Maroon team has to cook dinner at our Christmas party. I'm pretty sure we are having peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches!
Now that our playing phase of the fall is over, we are headed into the offseason. This means we now work out everyday as a team with our strength coach, Ray. We lift weights on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and run on Tuesday and Thursday. We also start up our individuals again. This allows us to work on anything and everything we were not comfortable with in our fall season. It is just another chance for us to keep getting better and better!
