The Texas A&M men's basketball team closes its two-game exhibition schedule against the EA Sports Midwest All-Stars on Monday at 7 p.m. at Reed Arena.
Members of Aggie Athletes Involved will be on hand to collect donated blankets, coats, sweaters and jackets. Fans donating items, which benefit Twin City Mission, will receive a free admission. Fans interested in donating should look for the 12th Van parked outside the main entrance to Reed Arena from 5:30-7 p.m.
The Aggies defeated Team ezybonds, 98-82, in their first exhibition game on Wednesday, led by sophomore Antoine Wright's 20 points. Freshman Acie Law added 13 points, while senior Andy Slocum scored 10 and sophomore Luis Clemente chipped in 10 points with a team-high 10 rebounds.
"I was not pleased with our defensive intensity in our first exhibition game," A&M coach Melvin Watkins said. "I'm not worried about our scoring, but we need to defend better. I like this team and I like our potential. I challenged our seniors a bit and I think they've responded and will get things right."
EA Sports was 3-8 going into its game against SMU on Sunday in Dallas. Monday's game against the Aggies closes the All-Stars' schedule.
EA Sports has defeated Kansas State (79-67), Illinois State (78-71) and Arkansas (76-71) and also played Big 12 champion Kansas to the wire before falling, 91-87.
The All-Stars roster features several former collegiate standouts, including Illinois' Lucas Johnson, Wake Forest's Robert O'Kelly, West Virginia's Mike Brownlee, Virginia Commonwealth's Alvin Mogley, Georgia's Anthony Evans and Western Carolina's Cory Largent.
The Aggies open the regular season at home against Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 24.
