The 2004 softball season is finally here!

Our first day of school and practice was on Tuesday. It was weird to actually have something to do all day long. Don't get me wrong, having a long break was very nice, but I was ready to get back and get things going. You know that saying, 'Be careful for what you wish for'....well it is so true. I went from having nothing but free time to absolutely no free time! But hey, I wouldn't know what to do if it was any other way.

Practice is going really well! Everyone came back in tip-top shape. You can tell that everyone worked over the break, and that is a GREAT thing to see! You can see an improvement in our team everyday and hopefully we will just keep getting better and better.

On Saturday morning, we were able to attend the dedication of the new west campus facilities. The Carolyn and Jack Little '60 facility provides training and locker rooms for softball, soccer, and track. It was really neat to get to see the things and people that have made our complex such an awesome place to play at. Our softball team was well represented by Lindsay Park, who spoke at the ceremony on behalf of all student athletes. She did an amazing job!

Our first game is about a week and a half away, and I can't wait! We still have a week's worth of practice ahead of us but it is nice to finally have games to prepare for. It will be an exciting season!

Till next time,
Adrian
