Although the weather did not cooperate, last week was a great week for Aggie Softball. We ended the week 3-0!
We tallied our first win on Wednesday against North Texas. It took longer than expected, with over 90 minutes of rain delays, but we ended up winning 6-1. The hero of the day was Sherah Atkins. She played incredible! She had a bunt single, a triple, and oh yea....a GRAND SLAM! It was awesome.
We got our second and third wins yesterday against Stephen F. Austin. The weather was still not good, actually it was freezing, but we made the best of it by winning the first game 2-0 and the second 5-0. Our pitchers (Lindsay and Christina) pitched really well! Obviously they held them to no runs, but they only gave up 6 hits between the two of them.
We have gotten off to a good start, but this week will be the real test for our team. We start off by hosting the University of Houston in a doubleheader on Wednesday. Then we head to Arizona for the Arizona State Tournament. We are scheduled to play five games over the weekend, two of those teams made it to the College World Series and two made it to NCAA Regionals. It should be a great tournament!
