The Texas A&M softball team (3-0, 0-0) was ranked No. 15 in the second ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25 released Wednesday.
The Aggies moved up two spots in this week's poll after starting the season ranked No. 17. A&M won its opening day game against North Texas in College Station and then took two from Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches on Sunday.
The Aggies are currently ranked No. 18 in the USA Today/NFCA poll. An updated poll is scheduled to be released later today.
The Aggies travel to Phoenix on Thursday to compete in the Fiesta Bowl Classic at the Rose Mofford Athletic Complex. A&M will take on four ranked opponents in five games starting on Friday. The Ags open with No. 16 Oregon at 1:15 p.m. (CST) followed by No. 2 Arizona at 3:45. Saturday A&M is scheduled to take on No. 5 Washington at 4:30 p.m. and New Mexico at 6:30. They close out tournament play with No. 23 Fresno State at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday. Live stats for all tournament games will be available on AggieAthletics.com.
A&M's next home date is Wednesday, February 18. The Aggies will host a doubleheader against Houston beginning at 3 p.m. with the second game beginning approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first. The games were originally scheduled to be played February 10 but were postponed due to a rain-soaked field.
