The No. 18 Texas A&M softball team (5-3, 0-0) hosts the University of Houston (6-3, 0-0) in a two-game set at the Aggie Softball Field on Wednesday at 3 p.m. The second game will begin approximately 30 minutes after the completion of the first game.

A&M holds a 2-0 all-time record over Houston. The schools first played on February 21, 2001 in College Station with the Aggies taking a 5-0 win. Their second meeting came on March 20, 2002 in Houston, a 6-0 Aggie shutout.

The Aggies are coming off a 2-3 performance in the Fiesta Bowl Classic in Phoenix. A&M earned wins over No. 20 Oregon and New Mexico. They dropped games to No. 2 Arizona, No. 5 Washington and No. 23 Fresno State.

Jo Evans (Utah '83) is in her eighth season as the Aggie head coach and has a 570-365-2 overall record as a head coach. Her record since coming to A&M in 1997 is 257-161-2.

Houston hosted the Hilton Plaza Invitational last weekend and finished the tourney with a 3-1 record. The Cougars earned their victories over Northern Iowa, Louisiana-Monroe and Baylor. Their lone loss on the weekend came against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

Kyla Holas (SW Louisiana '94) is in her third season as the head coach at Houston.

Fans can park for free for Wednesday's games in the Olsen Field parking lots (PA 63) located directly across the street from the Aggie Softball Field. Overflow parking is available at Reed Arena (PA 102, PA 100).

Live audio and stats will be available for the first game on AggieAthletics.com. Live stats only will be available for the second game.
