Senior center Andy Slocum has been named to the Big 12 Conference "All-Improved Team" as part of the conference specialty teams selected by sports writers who regularly cover the league, the Big 12 Office announced on Monday.

Slocum, a 7-footer from West Monroe, La., averages 8.1 points and ranks third in the Big 12 in rebounding with a 9.0 average. In league play, he averaged 6.7 points and ranked second in rebounding at 9.1. He also ranks second in the league with eight double-doubles.

Slocum scored a career-high 21 points earlier this year against Prairie View A&M and had double-figure rebounding efforts in 11 games, including a career-high 18 against Texas, the most ever by an Aggie against the Longhorns.

Last season, Slocum played in just 14 games, averaging 5.6 points and 5.6 rebounds. He has posted 548 career rebounds, 16th most in A&M history, and has scored 584 points.
