The Texas A&M men's golf team struggled to a final round 310 on Sunday and finished 10th at the prestigious Hall of Fame Invitational at Redstone Golf Club.
No. 20-ranked Arizona won the title with an 18-under-par total of 277-283-286=864, six strokes ahead of No. 10 Oklahoma State (852). No. 7 Texas finished third (853), followed by No. 23 Oklahoma (854), No. 17 New Mexico (867), No. 8 TCU (872), No. 16 Arkansas (875), No. 6 Arizona State (879), No. 11 UNLV (881), A&M (283-291-310=884), Francis Marion (887), No. 9 Minnesota (888), Rice (893), East Tennessee State (904), Houston (907), Sweden (908) and Averitt College (980).
A&M senior David Tasker tied for ninth in the individual standings with a four-under-par total of 70-70-72=212, finishing 10 strokes behind champion Chris Nallen of Arizona (66-66-70=202). Tasker has finished in the top 10 in three of the Aggies' four spring tournaments.
Also for A&M, sophomore Andrew Parr tied for 40th (71-74-77=222), junior David Schultz tied for 60th (70-72-83=225), senior Stephen Reed tied for 60th (72-75-78=225) and freshman Tyler Kief placed 95th (79-85-90=254).
The Aggies play host to the 53rd annual Border Olympics April 2-3 in Laredo.
