Junior left fielder Jana James fought back from a 0-2, two-out count and fouled off six pitches before driving a single off of left hander Kami Keiter's leg to score designated player Lindsay Wilhelmson from third.

Her seventh-inning single gave the Aggies (19-15, 1-0) a 1-0 win over the No. 9 Oklahoma Sooners (26-10-1, 0-1) and lifted them to 1-0 in conference action.

The Aggies loaded the bases in the seventh when right fielder Rocky Spencer drew a walk with Wilhelmson and second baseman Sherah Atkins already on board. Spencer's walk set the table for James who delivered with the assistance of the 822 fans who were on their feet cheering her on.

Senior Jessica Kapchinski fought through two bases-loaded OU rally's in the first and sixth innings to improve to 5-4 on the year. She allowed four hits and struck out eight in the complete game effort.

The win over the Sooners was the first for the Aggies in their last 11 tries. Their last win came on May 11, 2000 when they defeated the then No. 4 Sooners, 9-6, in the Big 12 Tournament.

James has delivered in the last five Aggie wins as she has recorded the game-deciding play in each of the contests.
