This weekend was AWESOME!! We swept Oklahoma, giving us a 2-0 start in conference. Whoop! This was the first time we have beat Oklahoma since I have been here and the first time we have swept them in I don't know how long.
The games were INCREDIBLE!! Everyone stepped up and played really well! In the first game Jessica got the start and set the tone by pitching just amazing! She shut down a usually hard hitting and dominating OU lineup. Our team followed her lead and fought to the bitter end. We loaded the bases in the bottom of the seventh and Jana came through with a game winning single. IT WAS GREAT!!
The game on Sunday was a little different on the scoring end but not different in the result. Aggies 5 - OU 4 = WIN #2!! OU, apparently a little mad at the loss that was handed to them the day before, started the game off by scoring 3 quick runs. But then WE got to hit! Laura and I both hit two-run homeruns and Kristin hit a solo homerun, which gave us all the runs we needed. Lindsay Wilhelmson came in and pitched incredible! She shut OU down and helped us clinch our 2nd win.
A special thanks to our crowd on both Saturday and Sunday. You guys were AWESOME!!
We head to Baylor tomorrow for our next conference challenge. Hopefully we will carry the same fire with us that we had this weekend and BEAT THE HELL OUTTA BAYLOR!!
