You can pretty much say this weekend was a complete success. We swept Iowa State, our pitchers threw awesome, Joy got to run in her first game since her injury, and we didn't freeze to death. It doesn't get much better than that!
We didn't play outstanding this weekend but we did find ways to win. To me, that might be better than playing oustanding. In the past, if we struggled we normally lost. Now, if we struggle, we still have a good chance to win and that is SUPER exciting!!
Saturday, hits were hard to come across but Kristin came through with a clutch hit in the top of the 4th to give us a 2-0 lead. Jessica, not needing any more help than that, shut down the Cyclones giving up just one hit. She is throwing awesome! It's fun to watch! Sunday was a bit more of a nail biter. We again struggled at the plate, but our bats finally came alive in the top of the 7th inning. Hey, better late than never! We ended up scoring three runs which led us to our second W of the weekend!
Tomorrow we head to Austin to face good ol' Texas. Game time is at 6:30, in case anyone wants to come watch us Beat the HELL Outta t.u.!!
We are finally back at home this weekend. We host Kansas in a doubleheader on Saturday. So come out, bring your family, and have a little pre-Easter celebration by watching some Aggie Softball!! Hope to see you out there.
