The Texas A&M men's golf team fired a final round of even-par 288 on Sunday and finished fifth at the Billy Hitchcock Invitational at Saughahatchee Country Club. The tournament was the Aggies' final warmup for the Big 12 Championships April 26-27 in Hutchinson, Kan.

Host Auburn won the title with a five-under-par total of 284-284-291=859, finishing five strokes ahead of runner-up Jacksonville State (864). Memphis placed third (865), followed by Georgia State (868), A & M (289-294-288=871), Florida State (873), Southeastern Louisiana (875), Alabama-Birmingham (879), Mississippi (879), South Alabama (891), College of Charleston (891) and Mississippi State (915).

Jacksonville State's Nick Mackay won the individual crown with a seven-under-par score of 67-73-69=209. Auburn's Jonathan Dismuke was second at 68-70-73=211.

A&M was led by sophomore Andrew Parr, who tied for 12th with rounds of 70-73-74=217. Senior David Tasker (74-72-72=218) and junior David Schultz (74-73-71=218) tied for 15th, while senior Stephen Reed (71-76-73=220) tied for 28th and sophomore Rand Arbuckle (76-81-72=229) tied for 52nd.
