Last week was AWESOME! It went way better than any of us could imagine. We are playing so well together as a team. I can't think of any one person that did not take part in any of our wins. It is so much fun!
We started of the week by playing that team in Austin. We definitley brought our "A" game against good ol' Texas. We played really well!! We beat them 6-0, but we did not have any home runs, which means we had to earn runs the hard way. To me, that is the best way to win a ball game. We bunted, hit singles, doubles, sac flys....it was AWESOME!! That was the first time we have beat Texas at Texas since I have been here and I must say, it felt pretty good!
On Saturday we played a doubleheader against Kansas. You can pretty much say we brought our bats to the field. We won the first game 8-0 and the second game 7-3. In the first game we scored eight runs and again did not hit a single home run. We hit solidly through our entire lineup. It was GREAT! The second game was a little different. Kansas jumped ahead of us from the start and at one time were leading 3-1. But then we got to hit! Sherah hit a double, Sharonda hit her first triple of the year (WAHOO!!), and then Rocky hit her in to tie the game up. Then in the 5th the long ball came back to our game. Nicole hit a 3-run blast and Lindsay Wilhelmson followed it up with a solo shot of her own. It was AWESOME!
This week is huge for Aggie Softball! We host Baylor tomorrow at 6:30 and then head to Lubbock for our 2-game series against Tech. Baylor is the team that gave us that little mark in our "L" column, so I think some major payback is in store for them. If we keep playing the way we are playing, good things will happen! So come out on Wednesday and watch us BEAT THE HELL OUTTA BAYLOR!
