The No. 13 Texas A&M (30-9; 6-6) baseball team will play a three-game series against league-leading and 18th-ranked Oklahoma (23-12; 10-2) this weekend at Olsen Field. The Aggies enter the weekend tied for fourth in the league standings after winning series against both Texas Tech and Kansas and losing two of three to Baylor and Oklahoma State. Oklahoma lost its first Big 12 series of the season to Texas but rebounded to sweep their last three over Baylor, Kansas and Missouri.

NOTE ABOUT TICKET AVAILIBITY: All reserved seats and pre-sale general admission tickets for the Friday and Saturday games have been sold. A limited number of general admission tickets will be available at 5 p.m. at the Olsen Field ticket office on both Friday and Saturday.

All-Time Series Record: OU leads, 22-21

SERIES NOTES:

  • A&M head coach Mark Johnson has an all-time record of 16-4 against Oklahoma. Prior to the start of the Big 12 Conference, Oklahoma and Texas A&M played just twice during the Mark Johnson era. The Sooners beat the Aggies both times in 1985 in the Pan American tournament in Edinburg, Texas.
  • The Texas A&M and Oklahoma series has traditionally been one where the home team has not held its advantage. Since 1997, the Aggies are 8-4 at L. Dale Mitchell Park in Norman, while Oklahoma has a record of 5-4 at Olsen Field.The Aggies have won two of three series played at Olsen Field, but Oklahoma swept the three-game set in College Station in 2000. The Aggies have won all four series they have played in Norman, 2-1. Texas A&M has won six of the seven series played between the two schools in Big 12 play.
  • The Aggies have played the Sooners more times at the Big 12 Tournament than any other school. Of the 21 tourney games A&M has played, eight have been against Oklahoma.
  • Last season, Texas A&M defeated Oklahoma twice in a three-game series in Norman and once at the Big 12 Tourney in Oklahoma City.
