The 17th-ranked Texas A&M baseball team will play a midweek non-conference game against Texas-Arlington this Tuesday. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. at Clay Gould Ballpark in Arlington.
The Aggies enter the contest with a record of 31-11 after winning two of four games last week. After a decisive win over Houston last Tuesday, A&M dropped two of three games to league-leading Oklahoma at Olsen Field.
The Mavericks have an overall record of 23-17 after losing two of three games to Lamar last weekend in a Southland Conference series. UTA is 3-2 against teams from the Big 12 after beating Oklahoma twice, splitting a pair games against Baylor and losing to Oklahoma State.
Texas A&M owns an all-time record of 17-4 against Texas-Arlington. Last season, Erik Schindewolf's RBI double in the bottom of the 11th earned the Aggies a 7-6 win over the Mavericks.
The Aggies will send left-hander Cory Patton to the mound. Patton, A&M's everyday right fielder, will be making his first trip to the mound in two seasons at Texas A&M. He went 8-1 and threw 70 innings at Seward Community College (Liberal, Kan.) as a sophomore in 2002.
UTA has yet to determine who its starting pitcher will be.
Fans who are unable to attend the game can listen to Dave South call the action on AM-1620 WTAW. Airtime is 6:30 p.m.
