I have to say that last week has been my favorite week of the season. We added three more wins to our record, one of those which came against Baylor (the only team that has beaten us in Big 12) and I got to see and spend time with my family. It doesn't get any better than that!
On Wednesday the Baylor Bears came to College Station to play the second game of our two game series. Sharonda quickly set the tone for us by hitting her second triple of the year! YAHOO! Then with two outs, she and Jana attempted a double steal. Jana got herself into a run-down which allowed Sharonda to steal. From then on we never looked back. Jessica again threw another great game and we came away with the 2-0 win.
We headed for Lubbock on Friday evening to play Texas Tech. Our game did not start until 6 p.m., which let me tell you makes for a VERY LONG morning. When game time finally did come though, we definitely came to play. We hit AWESOME! Everyone crushed the ball! We ended up run-ruling them 11-1. It was GREAT!
After the game we headed to my Grandmother's house for dinner. My mom, grandmother, aunts, and cousins prepared a taco bar and homemade ice cream for us. IT WAS THE BEST! Many of my family members also came over so everyone got to meet my family and visit. It was a lot of fun! I think though, that my little cousins stole the show!
Thanks for everything you guys, it was AWESOME!
Sunday we again came out swinging. It's pretty much safe to say that Rocky was the hero of the day. She hit two of the three homeruns we had in the game and had two walks. It was fun to watch! Sherah was responsible for the third homerun of the game which came in the top of the fifth inning. They were not the only ones that hit the ball though, EVERYONE hit! It was so much fun!!
This week is a very important week for us! We have a double header at Oklahoma State on Wednesday and then we host Missouri this weekend. We have to play well in every game in order for our goal of a Big 12 Championship to come true. But we have to take one game at a time and that one is on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
This weekend is our last weekend to be at home. Sunday we will honor our Seniors for the hard work and dedication they have given to our program. So come out this weekend, and especially on Sunday, to help us honor and show our gratitude to our Seniors!
Hope to see you out there!!
Adrian
