Although it had a terrific start, this week definitely did not go according to plan.

We started the week off by run-ruling Texas on Wednesday. It was AWESOME! We had over 1,400 fans come to watch us play and we certainly did not disappoint them. Everyone crushed the ball!! I am pretty sure each of us got at least one hit, most of us two or three. It was so much fun! We ended the game in the bottom of the fifth inning with a score of 11-1. It was a great way for our seniors (Jessica, Lindsay, and Sherah) to end their Aggie Field career!

A big THANK YOU to everyone who came out on Wednesday. You guys were INCREDIBLE!!

We headed to Lincoln on Friday to fight for a Big 12 Championship. And fight we did, both games went into extra innings. Saturday was a tough day for us defensively. We certainly did not play the type of defense we normally play. In the top of the 7th we found ourselves down 4-1. We certainly didn't give up, a couple of base hits and a crucial clutch hit by Rocky led us to tie the game 4-4. Talk about exciting! It was AWESOME!! We ended up losing in the bottom of the 8th, but the heart we showed in the 7th will carry us a long way in the future.

Sunday's game was paved with just as much excitement and...disappointment. We lost another heartbreaker in the bottom of the 10th, 4-3. Although we lost, we played really well. We came back from behind again but this time it was in the top of the 6th. Lindsay Park hit a BOMB over the right field fence to put us up 3-2. It was her second of the year and her first in conference. It could not have come at a better time! It was GREAT! Nebraska tied the game in the bottom of the 6th and it stayed tied until the 10th. We went into the International Tie-Breaker in the top of the 10th and they came through with a timely hit. Sometimes, as hard as it is to swallow, the ball just doesn't bounce your way.

Even though we didn't win the conference, we did finish second, which is the best finish in A&M history! Way to go Ags!

This week is finals week so we don't have very much going on softball wise. Coach Evans wanted to make sure we didn't have any excuses for not doing well on our finals.

Our focus now is on winning the Big 12 Tournament which starts next Wednesday. We are playing extremely well so good things are about to happen! It will certainly be exciting!

Till next week,
Adrian
