Texas Tech SS Cameron Blair of Dallas, Texas, Missouri pitcher Garrett Broshuis of Advance, Mo., and Texas A&M pitcher Zach Jackson of Cranberry Township, Pa., have been chosen as Phillips 66 Big 12 Conference Baseball Player of the Week and Co-Pitchers of the Week, respectively, in voting by a select panel of media covering Big 12 baseball for games played from Apr. 27-May 3.

Jackson was perfect for eight innings while retiring the first 24 men he faced in last Saturday's 4-2 win at Nebraska. In the ninth, the lefty surrendered an infield single, hit a batter and then gave up an RBI double and RBI groundout. He proceeded to strike out NU's Nos. 2 and 3 hitters to end the game and gain the win for the Aggies with 11 strikeouts (his third 10-plus SO outing of the year) and no walks. The Pennsylvania product made his A&M debut with an opening-day, seven-inning no-hitter against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. And improved to 9-3 with 88 whiffs after the weekend triumph.

Blair had a sizzling week for the Red Raiders as Tech was a perfect 4-0 with wins over New Mexico and Kansas. He hit .526 (10-for-19) with three doubles, three home runs (including one grand slam) and 12 RBI. His grand slam on Apr. 27 made him the all-time single grand slam leader at Texas Tech as he hit his third of the year. The three grand slams in a single season also tied the Big 12 record set by Jose Montenegro of Oklahoma with three in 1998.

The righthanded Broshuis remained unbeaten on the season after picking up a win then-over No. 1 Texas last Saturday in Columbia. He shut out the 'Horns on just four hits over a career-high 8 1/3 innings of work to move to 7-0. He also struck out a career-high nine in the game. Broshuis allowed three hits through the first three innings and then retired the next 11 batters, including three straight 1-2-3 innings. The Missouri resident later gave way to relief man Mark Alexander for the final two outs of the blanking while Broshuis lowered his ERA to 2.83 ERA 68 strikeouts.
