After a nine-day layoff, Cory Patton and Craig Stinson each doubled and tripled to lead No. 9 Texas A&M to a 9-2 win over Texas-San Antonio before 3,506 fans at Olsen Field.

The Aggies improved to 36-14 while the Roadrunners dropped to 24-26.

Texas A&M returns to Big 12 play this weekend when they host Kansas State in a three-game series at Olsen Field. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. at the series opener on Friday.

Kyle Marlatt (4-1) pitched the fifth, sixth and seventh innings, allowing just one run on one hit to earn the win. He fanned two and did not allow a walk.

A&M took the lead in the bottom of the third without the benefit of a hit. Travis Bartek started the inning with a walk, moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Matt Alexander and stole third. Cliff Pennington's sacrifice fly to shallow left, allowed Bartek to score.

UTSA answered in the top of the fourth when Zach Etheredge, who doubled, scored on a single by Robbie Johns.

The Aggies regained the lead with three runs in the bottom of the fourth. An RBI single by John Infante was followed by a two-RBI single by Bartek to make the score 4-1.

Chris Lewis hit his 13th homer of the season in the top of the fifth to cut the A&M lead to two runs.

Texas A&M blew the game open in the bottom of the seventh by scoring five runs on five hits. Patton drove in two with a triple, Austin Boggs plated a run with a single, Stinson drove in another with a triple and Ruggiano lifted a sacrifice fly chase across the final run of the frame.
