Texas A&M leftfielder Jana James was named to the Region 8 All-Tournament Team at the completion of Regional play in Athens, Ga. on Sunday.

In the Aggies' three games James, a junior from Mesquite, Texas, led the team with a .556 average and drove in three runs while going 2-for-2 in stolen bases.

Her best performance came against UT-Chattanooga as she went 3-for-4 with two runs scored as well as recording all three of her RBI.

"I was excited to see her step up the way she did," head coach Jo Evans commented. "She is a good hitter but has struggled a little bit this season. It was nice to see her rise to the occasion and perform the way she did. We needed someone to step up and she filled that role for us. I am glad that she can end the season with an honor like this and I hope that she can carry it into next year and cap off a successful career."

This is the second consecutive season that James has been named to the Regional All-Tournament Team. Last season James hit .467 and drove in seven RBI in the Region I Tournament in Tucson, Arizona.
