Texas A&M senior outfielder Cory Patton was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association All-America third-team as well as being named a first-team selection to the ABCA's Midwest region squad.
Patton, a native of Owasso, Okla., finished the season batting .326 with a team-leading 18 doubles, 11 home runs and 67 RBI. Patton was selected as an All-Big 12 first-team outfielder after being named to the second team as a junior.
In his two years as an Aggie, Patton accumulated 33 doubles, 24 homers and 125 RBI. From his outfield position, he recorded 15 outfield assists.
Patton earned the Aggies' Marion Pugh Most Valuable Player award (as voted on by the players), and the Loraine B. and William G. "Breezy" Breazeale RBI Award.
The Toronto Blue Jays recently selected Patton in the sixth round.
