The Texas A&M football team worked in full pads for more than two hours Sunday evening at the grass practice fields near Kyle Field.
The Aggies used an early portion of the workout to hold a scrimmage.
"We scrimmaged about 30 plays," A&M coach Dennis Franchione said. "I thought they flew around pretty good. I saw some good things. There were some mistakes made and some things I'd like to see crisper.
"We'll go back to work tomorrow, try to clean some things up, and scrimmage again Tuesday at Kyle (Field)."
Franchione noted the team's attitude and desire to get better.
"We're getting good work in and the guys have a good attitude and know that they have to keep working to get better," Franchione said.
The Aggies will continue daily workouts until Sunday when a day off is slated.
"This week is still about A&M, about us," Franchione said. "We've got to approach the first 20 practices for the most part about us. Then 20 through 29 will probably be a little bit more about Utah, but it won't quit being about us."
The squad began the day holding a church service. Junior linebacker Archie McDaniel spoke to the team during the service a day after attending the funeral of a high school teammate in Bay City, Texas.
Senior defensive back Byron Jones also attended the funeral and both players returned to participate in the Sunday practice after missing Saturday's workouts.
The Aggies continue fall camp on Monday with two practices scheduled. A&M will kickoff the season at No. 20-ranked Utah on Sept. 2 in a game being televised by ESPN.
