First-year Texas A&M men's basketball coach Billy Gillispie is featured on the cover and in a long article in the September issue of Basketball Times.
The cover photo, taken by Glen Johnson, is from the press conference introducing Gillispie at Reed Arena in late March.
Basketball Times editor John Akers wrote the lengthy centerspread article, which runs three pages in the oversized magazine. The story details Gillispie's upbringing and rise through the coaching ranks, then illustrates the importance of his Texas ties in rebuilding the A&M basketball program.
Published in Pinehurst, N.C., Basketball Times is considered by many to be the bible of the sport.
