Jerad Harklau fired a three-under-par 69 and Bobby Gates added a 70 on Saturday to lead Texas A&M to a fifth-place finish at the William. H. Tucker Intercollegiate at the University of New Mexico's Championship Golf Course.
As a team, the Aggies closed with a two-under-par 286 for a 54-hole score of 866. Arizona won the title with a score of 855, two strokes better than runner-up New Mexico (857).
UNLV finished third (863), followed by Texas Tech (864), A&M, Baylor (875), Wichita State (876), Colorado (876), Nevada (877), BYU (877), Colorado State (878), Fresno State (885), San Diego State (886), New Mexico State (890), North Carolina (895), Hawaii (903), Air Force (906), UTEP (908) and Arkansas (914).
UNLV's Ryan Moore, the reigning NCAA and U.S. Amateur champion, captured the individual crown with an 11-under-par total of 71-69-65=205. New Mexico's Spencer Levin was second at 71-65-71=207.
Harklau tied for 13th at 71-77-69=217, while Gates tied for 33rd (80-71-70=221). Andrew Parr tied for 24th (71-75-74=220), Martin Piller tied for 24th (72-70-78=220) and David Schultz tied for 46th (75-75-73=223).
