Texas A&M slipped one spot to No. 15 in the USA Today/CSTV Top 25 Poll, released today by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
A&M went 2-0 last week against unranked opponents, sweeping Baylor but taking five games to defeat Texas Tech both at G. Rollie White Coliseum. The Aggies improved to 8-4 overall and 4-2 in the Big 12 Conference.
Four of the 11 teams from the Big 12 - Oklahoma State does not sponsor volleyball - are ranked in the Top 25, and three others are receiving votes. No. 5 Nebraska (10-1) moved up two spots to No. 7, and Texas (13-0) leaped seven spots to No. 11 after upsetting then-No. 5 Florida last week in Gainesville. Kansas State (10-4) remained one spot behind the Aggies at No. 16.
Missouri, A&M's next opponent, is receiving votes and is No. 30. Kansas and Colorado also are receiving points and are listed No. 33 and No. 35, respectively.
The Aggies have a bye on Wednesday and then travel to Columbia, Mo., to take on the Tigers, Saturday, Oct. 9. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. at the Hearnes Center.
