The Texas A&M softball team opened the fall portion of its schedule on Tuesday with two wins over Northeast Texas Community College.

Sophomore pitcher Jill Weynand was the story in the first game as the Aggies blanked the Eagles, 11-0, in five innings.

Weynand (Frisco, Texas) pitched five hitless innings and struck out nine batters while adding a grand slam in the first inning.

In the second game, right-hander Megan Gibson got the call and the win in the Aggies, 8-0, five-inning win.

Gibson, a freshman from Spring, Texas, threw a five innings, allowing one hit while striking out six.

The Aggie offense racked up 12 hits in the game.

The Aggies contnine their fall schedule on Wednesday at the Aggie Softball Complex with two games against Blinn JC. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. with game two apporoximately 30 minutes following conclusion of the first.

Admission is free.
