The Texas A&M men's golf team carded rounds of 304-304=608 on Sunday and is tied for ninth place after two rounds of the Coca-Cola Duke Golf Classic at Duke Golf Club. The final round is scheduled for Monday.
Host Duke fired rounds of 291-288=579 to take a nine-stroke lead over second-place Michigan State (588) into the final round. Washington and Baylor are tied for third at 591, followed by North Carolina (592), North Carolina-Wilmington (597), Furman (599), Coastal Carolina (603), A&M, Charlotte (608), Virginia Tech (613), Drake (614), Michigan (615) and Florida Southern (620).
Michigan State's Matt Harmon carded a six-under-par total of 67-71=138 to lead the individual standings by two strokes over Baylor's Jeremy Alcorn (72-68=140).
A&M freshman Bobby Gates is tied for 11th at 73-74=147, while freshman teammate Martin Piller is tied for 40th (80-74=154). Junior Jerad Harklau is tied for 58th (77-80=157), and junior Andrew Parr (74-84=158) and freshman Matt Van Zandt (82-76=158) are tied for 62nd.
