A&M opens the regular season against North Carolina A&T next Friday at 7 p.m., at Reed Arena.
Guards Alex McLeod and Marko Jovic are Ottawa's primary offensive weapons, each with multiple 30-point scoring games in their careers. The Gee-Gees play at Sam Houston State on Thursday night.
Against Schreiner, an NCAA Division III team, the Aggies connected on 61.3 percent from the field while limiting the Mountaineers to 18.2 percent accuracy. A&M also posted a 54-28 rebounding advantage and forced 35 turnovers.
"Our guys were just happy to get our first contest under our belts," first-year coach Billy Gillispie said. "We definitely needed to play against somebody and I thought we did some good things. But we also made about a million mistakes, so we have a long way to go."
