General public sales are not expected from the 17,500 tickets allotted to Texas A&M University for the 2005 SBC Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas, between the Aggies and the University of Tennessee.
"At this point, it appears we will not have tickets for sale to the general public after we take care of the student allotment and fill the orders from our season ticket holders and 12th Man Foundation donors," Tracy Treps, Director of Athletic Ticketing, said on Tuesday.
The deadline for orders from season ticket holders and 12th Man Foundation donors is 5 p.m. today (Tuesday). Ticket requests will be filled based on priorities as 12th Man Foundation donors and season ticket holders. Fans should receive word by Monday, Dec. 13, if their order could not be filled and credit cards will not be charged if Texas A&M cannot fill the request.
Texas A&M students are allotted more than 2,000 tickets for the Jan. 1st bowl. The usual student ticket allotment for most bowl games is 10%.
Students began camping out in front of the Kyle Field ticket windows on Sunday and student pull is set for Thursday beginning at 8 a.m. Each student must have a football or all-sports pass with their student ID. Each ticket pulled must have a football or all-sports pass and each student is limited to a maximum of six tickets.
The SBC Cotton Bowl ticket office sold a record 9,000 tickets on Monday, the day after the bowl announcement.
Capacity at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas is 68,252. Last year, Oklahoma State and Ole Miss drew 73,928 fans on a record-high temperature day of 74 degrees for the SBC Cotton Bowl.
The SBC Cotton Bowl kicks off at 10 a.m. central on Jan. 1, 2005 and will be televised nationally on FOX television.
