Woohoo! The Aggie Softball season is finally here! Don't get me wrong, I loved our time off, but it sure feels great to be back in the swing of things! This year is going to be amazing!!
We started full fledge on Tuesday, lifting, practicing and going to school. It was quite an adjustment from the break, since we all had a lot of down time. We have been practicing for a week now, and I must say, we look pretty darn good! Our hitters are really swinging the bats, our pitchers are hitting their spots, and our defense is looking really comfortable. This is going to be one exciting year!
In order to cap of the week and to sort of see where we were, we had an intersquad scrimmage on Saturday. During the seven inning game there was some good pitching, many outstanding defensive plays, and a ton of hard-hit balls. It was a pretty close game but in the end the maroon team, my team, won 6-4. I was pretty happy!
The weather this week has been absolutely gorgeous, but it looks like we aren't going to be so lucky next week. It is supposed to get to be pretty frigid. Hopefully, if we don't turn into popsicles, we will get as much done as we did this week. The season is coming up pretty fast so we don't have much time to waste.
Our first game, and home opener, is on February 4th against North Texas. I hope everyone is clearing there schedule and planning on catching a bunch of Aggie softball games this spring!
