Can you believe our first game of the season is this week? How exciting is that!! The season sure did get here quick!
We finished our second full week of practice on Friday. The weather was very nice to us, putting us indoors only once. Let me tell you, our indoor hitting facility sure does come in handy! I don't know how we ever lived without it. Since the weather allowed us to get on the field so much, we were able to get a ton of defensive practice in. We focused mainly on game-like situations, so when we get into actual games we will never be put into a situation we have not already practiced. Since I am an infielder, I love these situations, but our outfielders normally don't feel the same way. See, when we do these situations the outfielders are usually our runners. Needless to say, they don't like game-like situations too much, but they help the infielders get better. So outfielders WE LOVE YOU!
We are supposed to have four days of practice and one game this week, that is, if the weather allows us to. It is supposed to rain pretty much all week, so we will have to play everything by ear. If everything goes according to plan we will play our first game Friday at 3:00. I hope to see everyone there as we kick of the season and BEAT THE HELL OUTTA NORTH TEXAS!!
