Texas A&M head coach Jo Evans looks for her 600th career victory on Wednesday when the No. 24 Texas A&M softball team (1-0) takes on UT-San Antonio in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. at the Aggie Softball Complex.

Evans, in her 20th season as a head coach, has accumulated a 599-390-2 career record at three institutions. She began her career with four years at Colorado State (91-67) before spending seven years at Utah (222-143), where she took her alma mater to two Women's College World Series, and has spent the last eight-plus seasons at A&M (286-180-2).

Evans has earned five conference coach of the year honors, including being named the 2004 Big 12 Coach of the Year, and two region coach of the year awards.

Texas A&M is fresh off a season-opening 8-0 win over North Texas that saw the Aggies run-rule the Mean Green on 10 hits, including two three-run home runs, while freshman pitcher Amanda Scarborough (Magnolia, Texas) threw a seven-strikeout no-hitter in her collegiate debut.

The Roadrunners enter the game winless on the season after dropping three games to Arizona State in Tempe over the weekend. Prior to the season, UTSA was named the overwhelming favorite to repeat as Southland Conference Champions.
